On your Yamunotri tour packages you will trek up to high altitudes in Himalayas to reach the holy shrine of Goddess Yamuna. Reaching the main temple is a full day’s journey starting from the towns of Rishikesh, Haridwar or Dehradun and also involves a 13 kilometres of trek.

This trek begins at a small town of Hanuman Chatti from where a 6 kilometres of trek amidst lush valleys will take you to Janki Chatti. Keeping in mind the convenience of adult pilgrims and other disabled devotees here the services of horses, palanquin and ponies is also available for the trek.

Setting on the trek from Hanuman Chatti to Yamunotri you will encounter natural splendour at its best.
This trek is particularly noticed for its breathtaking vistas and cascading waterfall. Two hot springs are situated at Yamunotri offering rejuvenating bath to the tired devotees at Gauri Kund. The pilgrimage is performed in between the months of May to November after Diwali festival during which the temple remains open at a stretch.

The devout devotees can also choose to live here at the temple at the small ashrams and guest houses for a longer stay at the temple close to divinity.

Day Wise Breakup

Day 1: Trivandrum – Kovalam
On arrival at Trivandrum, transfer to the hotel at Kovalam. Afternoon sightseeing of Trivandrum that includes Padhmanabha Swamy temple, Museum, Horse Palace, Art Gallery. Evening free at Kovalam Beach. followed by overnight stay.

Day 2 : Kovalam – Kanayakumari
Morning after breakfast proceed to Kanyakumari. En route sightseeing of Padhmanabha swamy temple & Suchindram Temple . Afternoon arrival at Kanayakumari. Rest of the day sightseeing of Kanayakumari, Vivekanadha Rock temple, Gandhi Memorial etc. O/N stay.

Day 3 : Kanayakumari – Madurai
Morning after breakfast proceed to Madurai . Evening arrival at Madurai. Rest of the day free. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 4 : Madurai
Morning visit the Madurai temple & palace. Afternoon free for shopping. Evening again visit the temple for the night ceremony. O/N stay.

Day 5 : Madurai – Rameswaram – Madurai
Today, excursion to Rameswaram. Visit the temple and back to Madurai. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 6 : Rameswaram – Thekkady
Morning proceed to Thekkady. Afternoon arrival at Thekkady. Evening visit the sanctuary. Rest of the day free, followed by O/N stay.

Day 7 : Thekkady – Cochin
Morning proceed to Cochin. Afternoon arrival at Cochin. Rest of the day sightseeing of Cochin, followed by O/N stay.

Day 8 : Cochin – Guruvayoor
Morning drive to Guruvayoor. On arrival check in at the hotel. Later visit the Elephant Camp & evening visit the famous Guruvayoor temple (Only Hindus are allowed inside the temple). O/N stay.

Day 9 : Guruvayoor – Thrissur
Morning proceed to Thrisuur. Afternoon arrival. Evening visit the two famous temple Vadkumnathan Temple & Paramekavu Devi Temple. Rest of the day free. Overnight at the hotel.

Day 10 : Thrissur Railway station / Cochin Airport

Transfer Cochin Airport / Thrissur Railway station in time to connect flight/train for onward destination.
